Earlier today Arcade Fire tweeted about playing a free concert here in Montreal on the 22nd of September. Rumours are going around claiming it will be held at the Place des Festivals.

UPDATE: The show is presented and will be broadcasted live by SiriusXM Canada in association with Pop Montreal and numerous others. The first 100 people to donate $200+ to KANPE will receive 2 passes to the VIP area at the show and a copy of Tracy Kidder’s French release of her book Mountains Beyond Mountains (Soulever les montagnes), which will be released on the same day. Montreal’s Karkwa will be the opening act.
The venue is in fact place des Festivals du Quartier des Spectacles, but the time is still TBA.

Originally released by Arbutus on extremely limited cassette, the album will be re-released on vinyl and CD come August 8. New Godspeed?
When Godspeed You! Black Emperor announced late last year they would be getting back together to play shows across Europe and North America, not many people thought more of it. Well, GY!BE’s Bruce Cawdon revealed in an interview with Voir’s Olivier Robillard Laveaux that the band have written a few songs and recording is ready to start.
